BMB launches revolutionary ebode LightSpeakers

BMB Electronics, one of Europe's premier distributors of custom installation, audio visual, building automation and lighting solutions, proudly announces the arrival of the innovative new ebode LightSpeaker.

ebode LightSpeaker is truly in a class of its own. It combines low consumption LED Lighting with wireless sound in one easy plug and play system. The system saves money on electricity costs, and can be configured to deliver a distributed audio system in up to four rooms. LightSpeaker can be installed, connected, and enjoyed within minutes. Not only for home use, the system has a whole array of possible applications in commercial, retail and educational spaces.

Fitting a standard E27 screw socket and a myriad of different light fittings - recessed fixtures, table lamps and pendants, the ebode LightSpeaker’s dimmable LED produces 40,000 hours of light; the LED Light module will only need changing roughly every 15 years. It also reduces daily lighting expenses, using just 10 watts of power to produce light that’s equivalent to a 65 watt incandescent bulb. The LED contains no mercury or halogen gasses and, unlike incandescent bulbs, produces almost no heat.

Each ebode LightSpeaker’s custom-engineered speaker module features an 80mm wide full-range driver that utilizes digital amplification and signal processing to optimize the speaker’s performance capabilities and output.

Up to two music sources - an iPod and a radio for example, can be connected to the transmitter in the base station, which wirelessly sends the sound to the LightSpeakers. The transmitter’s robust wireless technology accommodates up to four pairs of LightSpeakers, giving the option of high-quality stereo sound in four different rooms or areas where two separate listening zones can be set up. The transmitter - base station and included RF remote control can both control the source selection, zones, lighting levels and volume.

The award winning and patented LightSpeaker technology is designed by Kadence Designs and licensed exclusively to ebode and BMB Electronics BV for sale in Europe and South Africa. Ed Haase, an experienced acoustic engineer and President of Kadence Designs led the team of engineers who pioneered and developed the revolutionary LightSpeaker.

LightSpeaker was the proud winner of the prestigious CES Innovation award for Eco-Design and Sustainable Technology at the International CES expo in Las Vegas in January 2010.

The target retail price for the ebode LightSpeaker System is €549,- (this may vary based on different Sales Tax and Duty rates in different countries). The system includes two LightSpeaker modules, base station, and remote control. Additional pairs of LightSpeakers will be available as optional extras.

You don’t even have to remember which TV Station is on which button, as the brightly displayed icons on the full-colour LCD display make it easy to find and surf all the channels, plus your own favourite 'personal' buttons for you and your partner also give you quick access to all your own favourite channels too.





The remote can be set-up within 5 minutes and is very easy to use and navigate. As the TAKE10 features RF control, you can even control equipment which is out of sight - even through doors, walls and ceilings.

ebode launches 5.8 GHz Video Sender

Today, ebode proudly announces the arrival of the new VL58, 5.8 GHz Video Sender. If you have always wanted to distribute audio and video to a second room but have avoided doing so because of the cost and difficulties surrounding running cables, the easy answer has arrived. With this new product you avoid the interference from 2.4 GHz equipment like cordless phones and microwaves.





The VL58 5.8 GHz Video Sender is designed to transmit audio and video signals without running any wires. Watch and control movies and TV programs from up to two source devices (DVD player, VCR, Satellite, etc.) in another room. You'll even be able to control your components using your existing remote, since the 5.8 GHz Wireless Video Sender includes an IR extender, transmitting your signals to the receiver in the room with your components.

How it works

The Transmitter is connected to A/V equipment anywhere in your house. The Receiver is connected to a second TV, wherever desired around the home. The Transmitter sends audio and video wirelessly to the Receiver, (even through walls and ceilings). To control a source, simply aim the remote towards the Receiver, from whichever viewing location you choose.
